The student of Delhi University decided to spend the summer vacation by helping the fresher. They are bunking going to their home instead spending time on the colleges by providing helping hand to the entire fresher.
The student from various colleges from north south campus have set up either by the college authorities or may be the student political parties. For few students its chance to interact with the new comer and others its good way to use up the summer vacations.
A student at the Campus Law Centre in North Campus, named Shauryaveer said, “We have set up help desks in some colleges of North Campus and South Campus. Our volunteers help freshers, who are unaware of the locations of different colleges, and even assist them in choosing the right course. Also, this is the perfect opportunity to interact with them and tell them that we are always there to help.”
Apart from that there is one more reason for the seniors to help the new comer- the sympathy factor.
The final year student of Hindu College, Aman yadav said, “As a fresher, youngsters face a lot of difficulties. I know this because I’ve gone through the same process. During my time, my seniors helped me through the entire admission process. I don’t think I’m doing something great. It’s my responsibility.”
The student from Hans Raj College said, “I am here to pass the time. I can’t spend my whole day lying on the bed for the entire summer break. Therefore, I thought of indulging in some good work. Initially, it was just for fun but now I believe that every student should be a part of this activity. There are many outstation students who have no clue about the campus and its rules and regulations. They need our guidance.”
