DU (University of Delhi) is planing to open admission online registration to 5 of its sought-after UG courses from May 10.
The standing committee on admission proposed this date at its meeting on Thursday. The committee decided MPhil registration and PhD, also start same day.
The undergraduate courses whose application process is to start from May 10 are bachelor of business studies (BBS), bachelor of financial investment and analysis (BFIA) and BA (H) business economics (BBE), bachelor of management studies (BMS) and BSc in physical education (health and sports). The committee is still to decide on the last date for receiving applications.
According to a member of the committee, R N Dubey, the admissions to these courses will be based on entrance examinations, group discussions and interviews.
While entrance exam weightage for BSc in physical education will be 70%, for the rest it will be 85%. For BSc in physical education 30% weightage will be given to class XII marks and achievement in sports.BBS is offered in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Keshav Mahavidyalaya and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS) and has a total of 275 seats.
According to Dubey, the entrance exam centres will be same as that for the postgraduate admissions – Bengaluru, Nagpur, Delhi, Jammu, Varanasi and Kolkata. The university is also likely to retain Chandigarh and Lucknow as centres as was with the previous admission policies.
Applications for MTech in humanities and BTech in mathematical science offered by Cluster Innovation Centre of DU, MPhil and PhD would be accepted till May 30.
