ECA needs to be more simplified

Offline admission form started on 5th June, Friday for DU undergraduate courses specially for those applicant who do not find themselves comfortable with online process.

The applicant who are applying under the ECA (extra-curricular activities) are not satisfied as the the colleges list and other detailes are not mentioned in centralized manner.

A student of 19 years Rajat Kothari – National boxing Champion said IANS, “Although the university has simplified the admission process, there is no clarity about the college to be opted in terms of preference.” Further added “ I am applying for B.Com but I have no idea which college will provide me boxing facility. I have to do the research all by myself.”

The next experience was made by a state-level basketball player, Richa Gupta who was at Gargi College and was there to collect an offline form for the BBA course Bachelor of Business Administration said – “The process needs to be streamlined more. A list at the help centre, displaying the various sporting facilities available in colleges, would have saved a lot of time,” she said.

Seeing this confusion the deputy dean of students’ welfare G.S. Tuteja, said IANS, “No one has complained to us about this so far, but I assure you that the issue will be addressed on a priority basis.”

The 1st admission day was opened by the offline registration of eight well reputed south colleges for which students arrived around 7:45 am and many students found quick service.

Students are saving time by submission of form – Apurva Singh student told – “The forms submitted in off-campus colleges will reach the university a day later. So why waste time when we can submit it directly.”
